Juvenile Court” for foster parents and relative caregivers in California. Armed with a
working knowledge of our Juvenile Court laws, caregivers can advocate for stability and
effect critical changes in our foster care system.
Multi-disciplinary Training, working with local Bay Area child psychologists and
child development experts, Advokids has developed a multidisciplinary training to
arm foster child advocates throughout California with the science and the law to
encourage consistent focus on the psychological and emotional needs of our infants and
children at every stage of their legal proceedings.
The Enrichment Fund allows the community to enrich
the lives of foster children. Children in foster care often
cannot afford to participate in activities that so many other
children take for granted. Lessons, camps, prom expenses, and
educational school trips are not always available to our foster
children due to financial constraints.
Advokids accepts requests from caretakers, social workers, CASA volunteers and children’s attorneys.
All requests are carefully screened and all donations dispersed directly to the provider. With your help, Advokids will provide for the needs of foster children that would otherwise go unmet.

Advokids’ Enrichment Fund receives many requests for summer camp tuition assistance. Here is just a sampling of profiles of local foster children who are seeking your help to attend summer camp.
Andrew is 13 and been in foster care for 2 years. He is very bright and loves the outdoors. Last week he received the news that he will not be going home with his mother. He prayed every night that he would be able to go home, but due to his mother’s mental health, he will not be able to return home. He is devastated and angry. His foster mom believes that attending summer camp will help Andrew put aside some of his feelings of despair. Ally is a 10th grader whose life has been challenging ever since she was very young. She has overcome homelessness, survived her mother’s drug addiction and neglect, and the death of her father when she was only seven years old. Ally is a very resilient young woman who has learned to be self-reliant and responsible. Ally would like to attend camp this summer with all of her foster siblings. She has worked very hard this school year and has taken 8 classes each semester in order to catch up with her grade level. She will be a senior next year and hopes to apply for college the next upcoming year. Please help me give Ally a wonderful, exciting summer this year. Davey is 14 and recently received the devastating news that she will be unable to return to her mom due to mom’s physical and mental health problems. Davey is struggling academically and socially. She would love to go to camp for 2 weeks, something she has never been able to do before. The camp experience would benefit her greatly. |
