This training covers the duties of the attorney appointed to represent the child in California dependency proceedings, as prescribed by the Welfare & Institutions Code and the California Rules of Court. It addresses ethical issues that may arise during the representation and the views of national experts, including the ABA, on how these ethical issues should be handled. It also covers specific areas of substantive dependency law that particularly affect the child and with which the competent child's attorney should be conversant.
